A Peaceful Way Of Changing the World
by Sheoli MakaraLast Saturday as part of the trip the captain asked me if the group would be OK with trying to find the Navy LFAS vessels so we could swim in the waters and possibly halt the testing. I knew that would be OK with me and possibly with the others.
But nature and the whales had another vision on store for us. Instead we were shown the richnss of the whales in their natural habitat. In fact their demonstration of life was unbelievably incredible.
We left Kona and headed north and as soon as we exited the harbor we saw a whale breach. As we headed north we came across and mother and a calf breaching. It was as though she was teaching her new one the joy of rising out of the water and taking a look around. After watching them play for an hour or more we saw two whales on the horizon breaching time after time. We headed off towards them and their behaviour changed to one of courtship and mating with their long fins slapping time and time again into the water.
By this time we realized the water was full of whales that day!
We lowered a hydrophone into the water listened to their sounds and possibly for the LFAS sound. But we only heard the whales whelping and hooting. I had decided to go for a swim with a couple of my friends and we slipped into the water knowing that there might be a whale close by.
The previous week we had gone out and hardly saw any whales. At one point we lowered the hydrophone into the water and there were two males singing the most beautiful song. We recorded their song while we took a swim and I was playing diving down deep and floating to the top with my arms outstretched and my heart open. It was beautiful and the
photographs came out perfect!Any way as we slipped into the water we swam in formation with our hearts open and full. We were about 25 feet away from the boat when suddenly a whale breached and arched her back with her fins wide open her heart towards us and the boat behind. We, however, did not see anything as she came up once and then came up again as if to say your heart is open I can feel you, my heart is open I acknowledge you. Our friends on the boat were besides themselves, not with fear but with happiness and joy. We had been preparing in meditation and healing sessions for this encounter, and we were rewarded. We have yet to see if the photos came out!
Later in the day we saw two males doing their territorial thing and as it were wrestling with the other. They breached out of the water and back in again jostling the other of their kingdom.
I learnt... or relearnt something very important. I had become burnt out from working the web site for the LFAS and trying to stay abreast of all that was going on.
I was reminded that there is a peaceful way of changing our world.
Aloha and Blessings,
Sheoli

sorry I'm late posting
It's been abit of a day, last full day of cleaning rosies house before tomorrow when we hand the keys back. She's in complete choas over here, however she has a bed and some stuff in the back room.
So for me today I spent most of the morning a ) waiting for the new leather settees to be delivered here
they are lush!!!
abit of a faux par with the colour tho.... off white, with three dogs and a cat.... um, better invest in some serious leather cleaner

b ) going over with the rest of us to vaccum, dust and make spik and span the upstairs (downstairs is done) still afew things to finish off. It's looking good
I didn't go into town this afternoon, basically the rain was completely mad out there, suffering slightly with a hang over (
) don't know where that one come from..... ehem... I retreated to sleep
fabulous!!!
Just catching up with you all now

Well my best mate has said I have the 'breaking strain of a Kit Kat my girl' when it comes to crystals....she's right i can't resist!!!!
I've just had to arm wrestle her about a bracelet!!!! no joke!!!
We spied it, quick check of the fundage and I didn't have enough, whilst she looked at other stuff. We walked back to out floor in work and as soon as I sat down I thought, 'WTF am I doing!!!' a ) you only live once b ) jewellery can always be sold at a later date
hopefully for a profit! ![]()
So I legged it down to the hole in the wall and went and bought it. It's cute, all different colour jaspers. I might have to loan to my mate though, she seems abit gutted.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jasper
Jasper is said to the be the supreme nuturer
basically it's chalcedony but a more solid form. Colours all types dark red, orange yellow, tans, green gray and blue and brown.
It's a protection stone, good for shy or timid peeps (hey i need to be covered in the stuff!!!
) who want to change.
A stone of justice and fair play. Gives courage.
Good for those going into for surgery and recouperation.
So there we go...

An article from the Daily OM

I think it's important to embrace who we are, can you imagine if we were all the same how flipping boring would that be???! I had to learn to accept me, simple as, I thought I was different to everyone else and used to get frustrated as I wasn't interested in designer gear, making sure I was perfect etc., over the years I've learnt to appreciate that I don't do the things expected of a girl, society sucks in a big way anyways, so I'd rather kick off from that and run my own way
the Bo Way!
I'm actually very different but the same to my sister, there are similarities but basically she's more a party animal than me!
she's more of a rock chick!!

Most of us express our distinctiveness in many ways throughout our lives. Although, as we proudly share our offbeat traits and preferences with the world, we take great pains to downplay those eccentricities we ourselves deem odd. Instead of living lives colored by these quirky impulses, we seek out socially acceptable outlets for our peculiarities. We may not realize that we are editing ourselves in this way because our individual societal awareness is unintentionally attuned to the attitudes of the people we encounter each day. Over time, we have learned to suppress some of the most fun aspects of individuality. To rediscover and embrace these buried traits, we need only ask ourselves what we would do if we knew for certain that no one would judge our choices.
Visualizing this day without judgment can help you better understand the idiosyncrasies that are an important part of who you are but seldom manifest themselves in your existence. Perhaps you secretly dream of replacing grown-up, conservative clothing in favor of a changing array of costumes. You may envision yourself painting your car electric-green, hugging the trees in a crowded local park, singing joyous songs as you skip through your community, or taking up an exciting hobby like fire spinning. Try not to be surprised, however, if your imagination takes you in unexpectedly simple directions. In your musings, you may see yourself doing things such as breaking out in dance or dying your hair a fun color. Regardless of the nature of your suppressed peculiarities, ask yourself what is really stopping you from making them a part of your life, and then resolve to incorporate at least one into your everyday existence.
Life as we know it is so short. Making the most of years we are granted is a matter of being ourselves even though we know that we will inevitably encounter people who disapprove of our choices. When you shake your tail feathers like no one is watching, you will discover that there are many others who appreciate you because you are willing to let go of any inhibition. By doing this you help others know it is okay. No one else in the world is precisely like you and, each time you revel in this simple fact, you rededicate yourself to the celebration of individuality.

instead of a hippy on a day out to Brigton!!

How cheeky is that eh?!!?
