Ok, this blog has been written on request :D

Firstly, I didn't have any reference books or whatnot, this was afew years ago.

I started buying jewellery, now there's nowt wrong with that :)) however I suddenly realised it was the gem that I was after not the piece of jewellery I wanted (although a nice additional to my jewellery box! ;D )

So without any reference books I called in to my local crystal shop or crystal fare or where ever you see crystals for sale. Even the British Heart Foundation charity shop sells gems :yes: basic ones but they are there! ;D like strangely rose quartz (good for the heart) aventurine (good for the heart) tigers eye and agates :yes:

I've found that I went for carnelian first, it was the colour, texture. Go with the gut feeling whatever YOU head for or your hand first goes to, is what you need. Tumble stones are cheap only afew pounds and can be put in the pocket once cleansed and charged up :yes: :D

I've found that crystals need to be on the person to work, spiritualy I'd say they need to be in the aura of you to work, abit like wearing a multivitamin but cooler and pritter ;)

My sister taught me how to charge the crystal, ie., run tap water cold perferably, put the stone under and then try to visualise it with your eyes closed, it becoming clean. I then placed in the sun for afew hours to charge it. You can also bury for 48 hours, or as previously stated, charge by the full moon which gives optimum results :D

There are afew crystals Selenite which DONT run under water/bury, it will dissolve!!!

Some crystals clean others, smokey quartz needs to be cleaned regularly as it picks up negative energy from all else, so if you have some crystals always good putting smokey quartz near it too.

If you have a display of crystals, move them regularly, it moves the energy about and gives a better vibration from them.

Crystals are gorgeous, but they are also useful and healing to the body, mind and soul.
